The Global Spirits Masters – The world’s most highly regarded series of spirits blind-tasting competitions; recently posted the results of their “The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2022”. A competition which shines the spotlight on the world’s finest rums and cachacas (a distilled spirit made from fermented sugarcane juice and is very popular in Brazil). Each category is rated by specialist judges who are considered experts in the field. Judges are drawn from among journalists, retail buyers, bartenders and educators. The competition awards gold and silver medals – with the top spirits being designated as Master. The top spirit in each category is designated as Taste Master.
Jamaica’s very own Worthy Park Estate – White Overproof Rum was voted the top rum in the world!! Worthy Park Estate – White Overproof Rum or Rum Bar Rum is a blend of three un-aged rums, all distilled on 100% copper Pot-Still.
Did you know rum barrels from Jamaica are used as an ingredient in other rum blends across the world? Merser Rum, which is blended in London, is one such rum.
